Just wanted to let you know that the beans we so painstakingly sorted and cleaned sold so fast I didn’t get a picture of them! They were gone within 5-10 minutes of the start of the sale, and people were asking when we will bring our next harvest! We plan to plant again next month, though I wonder why we can’t NOW! Oh. I think we’d be away for the harvest in that case. We’ll see. The point is, church members were really excited to support us “Gringos” in our effort to grow red beans!

Ellie survived the SAT. True to culture, the testing started late and they ended 35 minutes after the latest time we’d been given! We’re just glad it’s over! Now we count the days till her results are in and from then until she heads to the US to attend a Taylor U. summer course!

Cindy, you are such a good writer. You express yourself so openly–joys and pains– and give us a very personal glimpse of your life, family, termites, SAT test, etc., and very challenging ministry. On Mother’s Day, our monthly “Pennies for Missions” offering will be sent to you and your family. God bless you and Wes and your family. Happy Mother’s Day. Thank you for taking so much time to write and communicate what God is doing through your lives. Jim Ruberg, Pastor and friends of Trinity UMC, Milan, Illinois.

  2. Thank you for the kind words and the Mothers’ Day offering as well! We hope to see you all in 2013, Lord willing!
